Bexley college, Erith is a finalist in the prestigious INCA awards 2015. The Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) Awards recognise innovation and excellence in external wall insulation (EWI). The longstanding INCA Awards demonstrate the vital role for EWI in improving the energy efficiency of buildings, lifting households out of fuel poverty and transforming local communities.
Gibberd architects have been appointed to undertake services from concept design through to completion. The scheme is intended to be the start of the regeneration of Erith's town centre and offers students modern facilities and a variety of specialist rooms to allow a rich and varied prospectus. The college design manages to balance complex structural deflections, a striking fenestration layout and sharp render detailing. The scheme also incorporates complex detailing to allow for the highly sloped site.
The winners will be revealed at the black-tie INCA Awards Dinner 2015 on Thursday 8 October at 8 Northumberland in central London.
