Gibberd were appointed to provide full architectural services for this hotel redevelopment at Ten Manchester Street in the heart of Marylebone. The development provides 42 luxury rooms in this four star boutique hotel along with restaurant space and an opulent cigar terrace.
Undertaking original site visits and co-ordinating survey information, Gibberd undertook the concept design of this hotel to strip out the existing arrangement and provide a series of rooms, each with individual character within this period building. Following a comprehensive design process Gibberd successful obtained planning permission for the building in 2008.
Architecturally the building required extensive redevelopment to ensure excellent acoustics throughout. Services required to the new and much improved commercial kitchen were carefully woven throughout the building so as not to distract from the internal spaces or the external facades. New rooftop plant was tastefully screened to ensure it was not obtrusive in this sensitive area.
Giberd also undertook an extensive interior design package, providing a unique and high end finish to the hotel. This included choosing and designing bespoke fixtures and fittings, luxury finishes and choosing and overseeing the installation of all furniture. The result is a sumptuous boutique feel throughout the hotels range of rooms, suites and lounge spaces.
