Project value: £7m
Project stage: Completed
The project consisted of the demolition of an existing six storey building and the design and construction of a new six storey office providing approximately 3,100m2 of floor area with lower and ground floor storage and plant areas. Construction comprised a reinforced concrete structure with troughed slabs and column free floor plates. External elevations feature Portland stone from ground to fourth floor with granite plinths and column bases and projecting bays in power coated bronze metal work. Upper floors combine glass and powder coated panels, curtain walling system with feature columns. During demolition an archaeological dig was undertaken precluding any disturbance of the site. New temporary works were designed, to allow the existing ground floor structure to be retained to prop the top of the original basement walls.
