Gibberd were appointed as executive architect to develop the St Johns Wood Road residential scheme for PAL properties in St Johns Wood, Westminster. This £7.5 million development consists of thirty-three high quality apartments and nine town houses with underground parking for 50 cars.
The project is located in St Johns Wood, North-West London to the northwest of Regents Park. St John’s Wood was developed from the early 19th century onwards. It was one of the first London suburbs to be developed with a large amount of ‘villa’ housing, as opposed to terraced housing. Parts of St John’s Wood have been rebuilt at a high density, but it remains a highly desirable residential district.
The scheme is a seven storey development with a dominant design feature of curved glass balconies to the primary street facade. This design feature is complimented by the overall character of the building with its fluid ‘wave’ like facade. The interior is designed to a high quality and luxurious standard.
