As part of the continuing works with SEEC, Gibberd interior designers were commissioned to examine and improve the existing Luker Road atrium space and tasked with creating a vibrant, welcoming and exciting environement which is accessible to the public.
The project involved refreshing the original atrium space and aimed to draw the public into the building by relocating the College Shop and integrate different services into the space, including information and Guidance Services, a Travel shop and a Cafe, all run by the students. This provided the Trade School with a number of opportunites for student training and interaction with members of the public across a range of subject areas. Careful selection of loose furniture, fixtures and fittings proved a key element of the design in creating a vibrant and welcoming environment.
